Lelystad Airport Business Park (LAB) is a business park where sustainable and innovative area development is not just conceived, but also put into practice. At LAB, work is carried out daily on smart solutions for water, mobility, data and energy.
Together with various partners, work is underway to make the water cycle at LAB more sustainable. Qua-vac is contributing to this with the Vacuflow® vacuum sewerage system. Vacuflow® is the beating heart that efficiently collects black and grey water. By using vacuum toilets, LAB also saves a significant amount of drinking water.
Together with LAB’s partners, we are thus building a future-proof, circular water cycle.
Circular water system
LAB has a closed, circular water system. Wastewater is treated locally and reused: as flushing water, fire-fighting water or process water. This system saves thousands of cubic metres of drinking water and energy every year.
• 16,000 m³ per year saved in drinking water consumption
• 15,000 kWh per year saved in energy
• 50,000 m³ of water per year available for reuse
Partly thanks to the vacuum sewerage system and the vacuum toilets, LAB is the first business park in the Netherlands to hold a so called BREEAM-NL Site Certificate.
