Noorderhoek, Sneek (The Netherlands) is a unique village, build with the complete sustainable concept of new sanitation. About 250 households will be provided with Evac vacuum toilets. These toilets are connected to a our vacuum station, where all sewage water will be collected. The houses also will have Qua-vac food waste disposers installed.
Vacuum piping transports the mixture to a local biogas plant where it co-generates energy. About 12% of the total gas demand in the district is produced this way.
The first phase of this project is already commissioned.
