5 steps to from wastewater treatment

Wastewater treatment systems play a vital role in ensuring compliance with national and international legislation by effectively separating and neutralizing wastewater. Qua-vac specializes in delivering advanced biological and electrolytic wastewater treatment plants that efficiently refine both black and gray water. Additionally, our grease separators effectively separate grease from kitchen and galley wastewater. These systems are particularly well-suited for naval applications, offshore vessels, and platforms.

These are the various stages of our wastewater treatment process, from the Equalization tank to the Effluent tank.

Equalization tank

The first step entails the utilization of an Equalization tank, which serves as a collection point for grey and black water. Its primary function is to gather incoming raw sewage, which arrives at fluctuating rates. By mixing all the sewage together, the Equalization tank ensures a consistent flow before the wastewater enters the treatment system.

Feeding tank

Moving on to the second step, we have the Feeding tank, situated between the Equalization tank and the Membrane tank. Through the use of feeding pumps, the mixed sewage is efficiently transported to the Membrane tank.

Membrane tank

The third step is the Membrane tank, which holds significant importance in the wastewater treatment process. This crucial stage enables the generation of high-quality effluent without the need for further treatment steps. Starting with mixed wastewater, the organic treatment process within the Membrane tank effectively treats the biomass present.

Effluent tank

As we progress to the fourth step, we reach the Effluent tank. At this stage, the treated sewage becomes effluent, with up to 99.9% of contaminants removed. The resulting water meets the standards set by national and international legislation, allowing it to be safely discharged into surface waters.

Sludge holding tank

Lastly, we arrive at the fifth step, which involves the Sludge holding tank. Despite the highly effective treatment process, approximately 2-3% of contaminants cannot be fully treated. To address this, the remaining sludge is transported to the Sludge tank, where it is securely stored for appropriate management.
